Steven Lord is an associate whose practice covers all aspects of oil, gas and mineral law, including representation of land and mineral owners, as well as operators. Steven also counsels clients in general business matters, including entity formations and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and purchases and sales.
Prior to joining CJMH, Steven was an Assistant Attorney General in the Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Natural Resources Section where he represented the Texas General Land Office and Railroad Commission of Texas in oil and gas matters.
Steven earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He received his J.D. from Loyola University-New Orleans where he was a member of the Environmental Law Moot Court Team and served as the Casenotes/Comments Editor for the Loyola Law and Technology Annual. Steven also obtained an LL.M. in Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Law from the University of Houston. Steven is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Steven has his private pilot’s license and enjoys flying to fishing holes when he is not practicing law. He also volunteers as a Director for the Texas Chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners.
