Shelley Marmon concentrates her practice in advising small businesses, financial institutions and wealthy individuals on a variety of business-related legal issues including contracts, debtor/creditor disputes, commercial litigation, employment law, insolvency matters, real estate management, construction disputes, insurance coverage questions, fraud investigations and other business management issues. Shelley is admitted to practice in state, federal and bankruptcy courts throughout Texas and enjoys the courtroom but also seeks to find resolutions for client problems without resort to litigation. In the recent past, Shelley has enjoyed working with owners of small businesses in closing the business whether due to insolvency or owner retirement.
Ms. Marmon is a 1979 graduate of The University of Texas with a Bachelor’s of Journalism and joined the firm after graduating from the University of Houston Law Center in 1984. She is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy law by the State Bar of Texas. Ms. Marmon has been selected as a Texas Monthly “Super Lawyer” in business bankruptcy in 2006 through 2011 and as a ‘2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Labor & Employment’ by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbell™.
Ms. Marmon is a past president of the Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited and former chancellor and senior warden of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where she has also served on the Endowment Board and School Board. She enjoys spending time with her family, travel, photography, trout fishing and training her Vizslas.
